Observing Without Judgment

The next section explores the notion that observation – of events and of other people – should be done without judgments. That can be difficult as we have a residual notion of language from our ancestors, who often judged from necessity, but it is up to us to be active in seeking to be non-judgmental towards others. We also look at how exaggeration in speech can affect interactions.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the influence of previous generations on our use of language
  • Consider how others can interpret exaggeration
